Cabinets and Storage Solutions for Smaller Houses

What would you think about living in a house this small? This little house on wheels is called a Tumbleweed House and it is, at most, 120 square feet. If you can believe it, there is every “room” you would need: a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living/eating area, even a front porch. Could you do it? It is OK if you couldn’t; 120 square feet is the size of a lot of people’s closets.

Maybe it is a little easier to think about living in this cute little 1800 square foot bungalow, instead.

A lot of people are downsizing these days, whether because of the economy or to just return to simpler times. Not all families downsize to the extreme of the Tumbleweed House, but nonetheless, that old adage “less is more” is making a comeback.

Unlike moving to another home that is bigger or the same size, moving to a smaller home has certain dramatic transitions that are unavoidable–such as making the most of the space you have available. This is essential for every aspect of every room of your new living arrangements. Hidden storage, built-ins, and cabinet accessories are just but a few of the ideas available to maximize your space.
